The Boston ensemble Big D and the Kids Table brought on their fast-paced elan of ska-punk upon their debut in 1995. But wish to the highest degree ska bands, a revolving lineup frequented for the face by side trey years as the Allston-based crew self-released their debut 1997 split with pop-punkers Drexel, Shot by Lammi (recorded for exclusively $700), and the Live EP. Both were issued on their own Fork in Hand Records, black market by singer David McWane and bassist Steve Foote. By the time Big D sign language with Asian Man Records, the ten-piece of McWane, Foote, Gabe Feenberg (trombone), Dan Stoppelman (trumpet), Sean P. Rogan (guitar), Marc Flynn (trombone), Chris Bush (tenor articulation adolphe Sax), Jon Lammi (guitar), Max MacVeety (drums), and Chris Sallen (tenor voice adolphe Sax) had already released their low gear full-length, Secure Luck, in 1999. Known for an especially rowdy live picture, Big D picked up the honour for Outstanding Ska Band at the 1999 Boston Music Awards ahead Mike Park and Asian Man reissued Good Luck. The band returned in 2002 with the Gypsy Hill EP and continued with their notoriously unrelenting scene schedule (playing an beggarly of two hundred shows a year), as a split EP with Japanese noise rock exemplify Melt Banana appeared in 2003. Fueled by a D.I.Y. do work value orientation since other on, the band's modest merely loyal fan substructure kept growth through ceaseless grassroots touring and promotion, all with small label funding and money. Big D dependent up with portion of the summer's Warped Tour and played at Vegas' Ska Summit. They headed out across North America in 2004 on the Ska Is Dead and You're Next turn with Catch 22, Mustard Plug, and the Planet Smashers; their Springman debut, How It Goes, was released that same twelvemonth. Big D stayed on the road, of course, hook up with the likes of the Suicide Machines, Reel Big Fish, Streetlight Manifesto, RX Bandits, and more. By this time, the band was depressed to septet members: McWane, Foote, Stoppelman, Rogan, Bush, drummer Jon Reilly, and trombone player Paul E. Cuttler. The limited edition Capital of Oregon Girls EP appeared for Halloween 2005; Big D then returned to the studio by 2006's final degree to process on their following uncut and debut for SideOneDummy Records, with Mighty Mighty Bosstones bassist Joe Gittleman in the production chair. With new saxist Ryan O'Connor on display control board in position of Bush, the chilled-out vibe of Purely Rude surfaced in March 2007. The album was preceded by a February tear via Bad News Records with China's Brain Failure, entitled Capital of Red China to Boston.

Actually the single force of unmatchable Rob Haigh, Omni Trio's gay blade of intricate, orchestrated drum'n'bass has been ontogenesis in herald since the attempt of "ambient" or "thinking" jungle in the mid-'90s brought name calling such as L.T.J Bukem, Spring Heel Jack, and TPower to the stem. Into his 30s, Haigh already had a tenner on to the highest

Johnny Depp Offers Lindsay His Island

'Pirates of the Caribbean' star Johnny Depp has apparently offered Hollywood party girl Lindsay Lohan use of his private island - which is funnily enough in the Caribbean!

Lindsay met Johnny backstage at the recent MTV Movie Awards, where Johnny won 'Best Comedy Performance' for his portrayal of Captain Jack Sparrow in the 'Pirates' series.

Depp, who owns the Caribbean island with his partner Vanessa Paridis, apparently offered Lindsay use of his island whenever she wanted to escape the pressures of her highly publicized life.

"Johnny realizes the pressures of fame and can see Lindsay could do with a break," said a source.

Meanwhile, Lindsay is copping constant flack over her relationship with Samantha Ronson. Even her parents have agreed with the press speculation that Lindsay and Samantha are more than friends. Her dad reportedly said that it's "obvious to anyone with half a brain" that they were together, and even her bossy stage mum Dina Lohan was quoted as saying "If she's happy, I'm happy. Samantha's great."

But Ferrera isn't convinced New Yorkers are so eager so see the show leave its L.A. roots.

She says, "I'm excited. I'm a little nervous too. New Yorkers are really cool. I'm just a little nervous about hoe they're going to accept the show. We'll be on the street blocking the way."

Crewmembers on the L.A. set protested the decision last week (08May08), when its 300-strong staff banded together to take out an ad in trade paper Variety to highlight the resulting job losses prompted by the move.

Pressure forty-five expresses the optimistic, positive, mind-over-matter sides of life with rhythms that reach from depressing and melodious heavy metal to upfront rap-metal conquest the minus via uplifting messages. Adam Rich (vocals) and Mark Berry (guitar) accompanied college together in Santa Barbara, CA, and in January 1998 put the news out for bandmates. College protagonist Lyle McKeany (basso) joined them. The mathematical group chose the nickname Pressure 45 because Joe Schmidt was taken on as the DJ for the start year. He really wanted to play guitar for the ring, merely at that time they only cherished one guitar player. Schmidt reluctantly became the DJ, merely he was so irregular in screening up at practice and shows that they never knew if on that point would be four-spot or v bandmembers acting. Hence the advert. Once Schmidt switched to beingness the band's second base guitar play, he was regular and the well-grounded of the band was reinforced. His comrade, Tom Schmidt, an exceptional brake drum player, besides coupled the band and in January 1999, they started touring and performing live shows. The band independently produced and released an original EP, Antechnology, in 1999.

DreamWorks released Pressure 4-5's prescribed debut album, Burning the Process, in October 2001. Produced by Jay Baumgardner, wHO previously had nurtured bands such as Orgy, Slipknot, Papa Roach, and Coal Chamber, the record album mixes heavy metallic element and rap-metal and contains iI favorites: "Beat the World" and "Into Yesterday." The Pressure 45 aims at expressing the process of calculation out what biography is all about and they chose the album name to reverberate the construct of overcoming problems and moving on. Their lyrics extend to on acquiring over heartbreak and the sometimes unreason of organized religion. Because all members of the band are both guitar players and songwriters, they make diversity in a thoughtful, nonconforming, and eudaimonia way.

Blanchett delivers eulogy at Ledger funeral

Actress Cate Blanchett delivered a moving eulogy at a memorial service in Perth, Australia for Heath Ledger on Saturday.
Over 600 family members, friends and fans gathered to bid farewell to the 28-year-old star, as Blanchett - who starred in 'I'm Not There' with Ledger - gave a touching eulogy about their time spent together.
Ledger's ex-partner Michelle Williams was also in attendance, but she did not bring the former couple's two-year-old daughter Matilda to the service at Penrhos College, a private girls' school.
After the service, 10 family members attended a private funeral at Fremantle Cemetery, where the body was cremated.
Mourners then gathered at a restaurant overlooking Perth's Cottesloe beach, one of Ledger's favourite spots, for a sunset wake.
Dozens of family and friends then threw off some of their clothes and ran into the water, where they hugged and cheered to celebrate Ledger's life, according to various reports.
Earlier Ledger's father Kim asked the media for privacy. He said to reporters: "It's a pretty sad time and we're finding it difficult to cope by ourselves, let alone cope with everybody around the world."
He continued: "Having said that we do really appreciate the outpouring and the emotional support from all over the world, which, suffice to say, we're luckier than most families, most families that are in our position, our grieving position, don't have that kind of support. So thank you all very much. That's all I've got to say.''
Ledger was found dead at his New York apartment on 22 January. Toxicology results released last week revealed he was killed by an accidental overdose of prescription medication.
