'Pirates of the Caribbean' star Johnny Depp has apparently offered Hollywood party girl Lindsay Lohan use of his private island - which is funnily enough in the Caribbean!
Lindsay met Johnny backstage at the recent MTV Movie Awards, where Johnny won 'Best Comedy Performance' for his portrayal of Captain Jack Sparrow in the 'Pirates' series.
Depp, who owns the Caribbean island with his partner Vanessa Paridis, apparently offered Lindsay use of his island whenever she wanted to escape the pressures of her highly publicized life.
"Johnny realizes the pressures of fame and can see Lindsay could do with a break," said a source.
Meanwhile, Lindsay is copping constant flack over her relationship with Samantha Ronson. Even her parents have agreed with the press speculation that Lindsay and Samantha are more than friends. Her dad reportedly said that it's "obvious to anyone with half a brain" that they were together, and even her bossy stage mum Dina Lohan was quoted as saying "If she's happy, I'm happy. Samantha's great."
LATEST: UGLY BETTY star AMERICA FERRERA is worried about moving her hit show from Los Angeles to the east coast - because she fears filming will upset New Yorkers.
The city's mayor Michael Bloomberg welcomed the series' relocation after producers announced the show would be moving east last week (06May08) to make the most of new tax incentives on offer in New York.
According to city officials, the move will create more than 200 jobs in the Big Apple.
But Ferrera isn't convinced New Yorkers are so eager so see the show leave its L.A. roots.
She says, "I'm excited. I'm a little nervous too. New Yorkers are really cool. I'm just a little nervous about hoe they're going to accept the show. We'll be on the street blocking the way."
Crewmembers on the L.A. set protested the decision last week (08May08), when its 300-strong staff banded together to take out an ad in trade paper Variety to highlight the resulting job losses prompted by the move.
